For the entire month of November, Mellow Mushroom will participate in Movember, the worldwide fundraiser that raises awareness and money for men’s cancer research.
The Mellow Mushroom on King Street is partnering with Old South Barber Spa for the 2nd “Melvember” photo contest where men are encouraged to show off their most “creative and outrageous mustache.” Photos should be uploaded to melvember.com/avondale where the one with the most likes at the end of the month will receive a Movember-inspired prize pack. The bounty includes dinner for two at Mellow Mushroom, a haircut, and a shave from Old South Barber Spa.
In addition to the photo contest, both the downtown and Avondale Mellow Mushrooms will be featuring a draft all month that benefits the Movember campaign. For every pint sold, $1 will be donated. Avondale has chosen any Palmetto Brewing draft, while the downtown restaurant is going with Rogue Hazelnut Brown.
Last, but not least, there will also be a Movember Party upstairs at the Avondale location on November 14th from 6 pm until 8 pm. There will be a mustache contest, barber touch-ups, chases to donate, and more.
