At the start of his show today, nationally syndicated radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge told listeners his foundation would be donating $10,000 to the family of a Charleston County Sheriff’s Office deputy that was murdered last night. Bubba’s show is syndicated in the Holy City by 98 Rock.
After offering his condolences to the CCSO, Bubba pledged to help Deputy Joseph Matuskovic’s family in their time of need. He took calls from Charleston-area listeners and talked about his charitable plans.
“My foundation's mission is to immediately offer financial relief for widows of fallen officers and deputies in our syndicated markets,” he said. “The last thing Mrs. Matuskovic needs right now is to worry about house bills, car insurance, and things like that. She needs to focus on closure and her family.”
The radio host, through the Bubba the Love Sponge Foundation, will send the $10,000 overnight to the widow of Joseph Matuskovic to help with expenses.
There will also be a “Bikes for Badges” charity motorcycle ride in Octobe. More details on the event will be announced at a later date.
