On October 4th, the Down Syndrome Association of the Lowcountry (DSAL) will host its 12th annual Buddy Walk in Etiwan Park in Daniel Island.
This year's event will include local entertainment, lunch, jump castles, face painting, and the traditional one mile fun walk with high school bands and cheerleaders cheering participants along. The celebration begins at noon.
The Buddy Walk is the primary fundraising event for DSAL, an organization that provides support to new parents; enriches lives through art, athletic, and educational opportunities and events; increases community awareness of Down Syndrome; enhances employment opportunities for people with Down Syndrome; and improves education for students with Down Syndrome.
