From August 5th through August 11th, the Junior League of Charleston (JLC) collected a total of 15,102 diapers during their Diaper Bank kick-off collection drive. The organization created the diaper bank to collect, package, and work with community partners to distribute these overlooked necessities to families in need.
On November 9th from 6:30 pm to 9 pm, the JLC will celebrate the launch of the Diaper Bank at Alhambra Hall. The event features cocktails, light bites, and a live auction supporting the League's community partners. The celebration is open to the public, and tickets can be purchased here.
For countless low-income families in South Carolina, it is a struggle to provide adequate necessities like diapers for their babies. The average cost of diapers alone is climbing to $1,250 or more a year.
The Junior League of Charleston Diaper Bank will collect, package and work with community partner organizations to distribute diapers to families in the Lowcountry.
