The Daily Announces New Team Members, Redesign, and Whole Cake Ordering

The Daily, the King Street coffee and specialty shop, today made a handful of announcements.

  1. The Daily welcomed new team members:
    • Weston Smith (General Manager)
      • Smith joins the team by way of California, Oregon, and New York City where he worked in restaurants under owners and chefs including: Adam McGovern, Andrew Carmellini, Dan Kluger, Jody Williams, Polo Dobkin, and more
    • Ashley Austin (Kitchen Manager)
      • Austin brings years of experience from various kitchens throughout the US, having most recently spent four years as the pastry sous chef at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Resort
    • Valerie Pollock (Coffee Program Manager)
      • Pollock’s extensive coffee program experience includes Counter Culture Coffee training program in Atlanta, MiiR’s flagship store in Seattle, and Dale Donchey and Hugh Acheson’s Spiller Park Coffee in Atlanta
  2. The Daily is now offering special occasion cakes for purchase
    • With 48 hours’ notice, guests can order whole cakes from the Butcher & Bee bakery team for any occasion
    • A list of the current offerings can be found on The Daily’s updated menu here
    • Cake by the slice will also be offered during the weekends for an added weekend treat
  3. The shop recently completed a restaurant redesign
    • Streamlines the ordering and queuing experience
    • Additional seating added
    • A new pastry and bread display was created
    • Additional retail offerings include fresh, rotating bakery items which are available for grab & go in this new display
    • The Daily is also now serving local Springbok Coffee for dine-in or pick-up
