- 5Church Charleston announced their participation in the 7th Annual Cabernet Academy hosted by Alexander Valley Winegrowers Association, “The Somm Journal” and Master Sommelier Fred Dame. The two-and-a-half-day event will take place May 21st through May 24th, 2018 in Alexander Valley, California. 5Church Beverage Director Patricia Smith is the only invitee to the event from the Carolinas. –
- Dockery’s has welcomed a new general manager, Chuck Isenberg, to their team. Isenberg, whose last position was as general manager at Prohibition, has already introduced a happy hour, a summer concert series, a customer loyalty program, and more. You can learn all the details here. –
- Catawba Brewing Co. announced the hiring of Rick Rice as Location Manager at their Palmetto Brewing Tasting Room. Click here for more info. –
- The Folly Association of Business (FAB) donated $25,000 in proceeds from three of their events that have taken place so far this year – the New Year's Day Polar Plunge, January's Taste of Folly and February's Folly Gras. A total of $10,000 was donated to the City of Folly Beach. This donation was for the beautification of Folly Beach and island assets. An additional $15,000 was donated to local civic and charity organizations – Folly Anglers ($3,000), Warrior Surf Foundation($3,000), Surfer's Healing ($3,000), Folly Beach Exchange Club ($3,000), Folly Civic Club's Halloween Carnival($1,000), and Big Brothers Big Sisters / Warrior Surf Camp ($2,000). –
