The Festival will be held at Blackbaud Stadium in Daniel Island and will feature a vast array of bands and delicious foods. The “hosts” for the event will be the Zac Brown Band who will headline each night with a live performance. Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Records lends its name to the festival, which isn’t all that surprising when you go to their website. Brown mentions on the site, “For me, Southern Ground represents a sampling of the things I love most – family, friends, food, and music.” Not to mention his band’s website boasts a Cooking Store to compliment the standard merch section.
It’s clear food and music will be taking center stage from October 21st to the 23rd. There will be plenty of food and beer concessions during the event. Plus, an impressive list of executive chefs will be on hand. The list includes Sean Brock from Husk and Mike Lata from FIG. The chefs will only be available in the “Front Porch Stage Boxes.” This VIP-type section includes seats on the stage and complimentary beverages.
The music lineup is just as impressive. Besides the headliners, My Morning Jacket, Train, Eric Church, Fitz & the Tantrums, the Warren Haynes Band, Blind Pilot, Cornmeal, Dangermuffin and many more are schedule to perform.
Single day tickets start at $57 and three-day passes start at $99. There are also VIP and travel packages.
In the coming weeks, I will post the full lineup and provide more details about the entire festival.
I’m really excited for this event and I’m sure many of you are as well! Stay tuned for details!
