***UPDATE, 1:17 pm*** – The lockdown has been lifted at all schools.
Multiple news outlets are reporting that a few North Charleston schools are on precautionary lockdown due to police activity in the area. The affected schools are Burns Elementary School, Garrett Academy, Memminger Elementary School and James Simons Elementary.
Live 5’s Harve Jacobs is reporting there was a shooting in the area of the schools and they are searching for the suspect.
