Local Woman Swimming to Raise Money for ALS
A Charleston woman is swimming for her young cousin who was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).
Irene Rowe will be participating in the Lowcountry Splash on June 1st to raise money for Shelby Rowe. The event is a 2.4-mile swim in the Cooper River and Charleston Harbor.
Shelby, a Philadelphia-area resident who just turned 21, was diagnosed with ALS when she was only 19. At this time she is unable to speak, breathe, eat or move on her own anymore.
To help Irene raise money leading up to (and after) the Lowcountry Splash, you can send all donations to:
Shelby Rowe
or her father David Rowe
