Is Bert's Market on Folly Beach the best convenience store in the world? It's certainly possible considering Charleston was named the Best City in the World last year. Why do I ask? Well, the question is being raised after a freelance writer named Courtney McCaffer penned an article for Yahoo! Voices that insists Bert's Market is indeed the greatest store on Earth.

Sure, the writer is a College of Charleston alum and the post is slightly tongue-in-cheek, but she still makes an argument that is nothing if not "Folly-like."

As McCaffery says:

If you're a stickler for immediate service and quality meals, Bert's Market is not for you. If you want to walk into a store and find food, drinks, magazines, sunscreen, cigarettes and diapers under one roof, go to a grocery store. If you want to walk into a store and find food, drinks, magazines, sunscreen, cigarettes and diapers under one roof without your shirt on, go to Bert's.
