With a Kite, a documentary about the sport of kiteboarding, will make its Charleston debut at the Memminger Auditorium on Friday. The documentary follows the pros as they prepare for the Triple-S Invitational in North Carolina’s Outer Banks.
The film has a few Holy City tie-ins. A portion was recorded in the Holy City and features Charleston native and professional kiteboarder Davey Blair. It also includes an original music score by Charleston musicians Sunday Entertainment and The Dubplates.
The Friday screening begins with a cocktail reception at 6:30 pm, followed by the film at 7:30 pm. The night ends with a Q&A session with the filmmakers and pro riders and a live performance by the Dubplates.
Tickets are $12 before taxes and fees and may be purchased here. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Tanzanian Education Foundation.
