Dance Along to “Strings & Salsa” at the Music Hall
On Friday, June 27th, the Charleston Music Hall wants you to see a new collaboration between the Charleston salsa community and a lineup of local musicians.
“Strings & Salsa” was the brainchild of Robbi Kenney, who decided to combine her two favorite pastimes of salsa dancing and playing the violin. She partnered with Gino Castillo and a group of violinists and cellists to finalize the project.
The Charleston Music Hall says attendees can expect to hear “traditional salsa dance tunes such as ‘Ran Can Can’ and ‘Viva Catalina’ in addition to the ‘Cubanized’ Stevie Wonder and Prince repertoire that Gino has made popular in Charleston over the past year.” For a preview of the event, watch the video at the bottom of this post.
Other musicians scheduled to perform at the show include Trey Cooper, William Moore, Victoria Milligan, and Caitlin T. Delaney.
Dancing in the aisles will be highly encouraged! Doors open at 7 pm for the 8 pm show. For more information and tickets, click here.
