The Mixson Farmers Market will begin its season with a grand opening celebration on Saturday, May 9th from 9 am until 2 pm. The event will be held in conjunction with the North Charleston Arts Festival.
As usual, attendees can purchase fresh produce and artisanal products. Each week, Mixson partners with GrowFood Carolina to provide fresh produce grown by state farmers. The Farmers Market also stocks local cheeses, fresh breads, artisanal grains, honey, jams, jellies, and more. The Farmers Market runs through November 7th.
During the opening celebration, artist Kris Westerson will be on-hand from 9 am to noon for discussions and demonstrations. Local singer/songwriters Katina Rose will perform from noon until 2 pm.
Throughout the summer, the Mixson Farmers Market willhost several other events like:
- The Blueberry Bonanza on Saturday, May 30th
- The third annual “Tomato Tomahto” on Saturday, June 27th
