Old Village Post House to Host Wine Dinner Featuring Peaches

oldvillageposthouseOn Thursday, July 29th, the Old Village Post House Inn will present a wine dinner featuring one of the state’s most popular local fruits, the peach.

The event begins with a reception at 6:30 pm, followed by four courses paired with wine.The peaches included in the dishes are grown by Ken & Dayna Bledsoe of Big Smile Peaches in Johnston, South Carolina.

Chef Forrest Parker’s five-course menu will include:

  • Passed Hors d ’Oeuvres
    • Bacon Wrapped Manchester Farm Quail
      • peach – mustard sauce
    • Prosciutto Wrapped Peaches
      • balsamic saba
    • Grilled Shrimp, Peach Gazpacho
      • basil, virgin olive oil
  • First Course
    • Seared Dayboat Scallop, Prosecco Poached Peach
      • buttermilk panna cotta, torn baby kale, sherry vinaigrette, toasted almonds
  • Second Course
    • Ember Smoked Grouper
      • peach pickle, corn & mushroom relish, preserved peach vinaigrette
  • Third Course
    • Iron Skillet Seared Duck Breast
    • roasted peaches, padron peppers, Carolina Gold rice grits, mustard peach brandy jus
  • Dessert Course

    • Bourbon Peach Cobbler
      • peach ice cream, salted caramel
