GENTLEMEN…START! YOUR! ….um…mattresses?
The Charleston Bed Race is returning to the Holy City on Sunday, May 1st at noon. The seventh edition of the charitable event will be held at MUSC Health Stadium in Daniel Island.
And yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like it is – people will race each other in bed-based contraptions!
After a parade showcasing each bed, the competition begins. Each team will take part in a race over approximately two city blocks. Awards will be given out for Fastest Bed, Slowest Bed, Best Decorated Bed, Most Outrageously Decorated Bed, the “What Were You Thinking” Bed, and the People’s Choice Award.
The event also includes live music, food trucks, and a beer garden.
The Charleston Bed Race, through sponsors, benefits Camp Happy Days. For more information visit charlestonbedrace.com.
