The South Carolina Aquarium will spend this Saturday celebrating World Turtle Day. The annual event brings attention to the care, conservation, and awareness of the oldest living reptiles in the world.
The Aquarium's events, which run from 10 am until 2 pm will include:
- Turtle-based exhibits
- Education stations focusing on different species of turtles
- Watch terrapins paint unique works of art
- Opportunity to meet the teams that protect endangered sea turtles along the South Carolina coast
- Tours of the Sea Turtle Hospital
- $10 for adults, $5 for children; all proceeds go directly to care for the patients
- Four tours to choose from
- Come eye-to-eye with sea turtles currently in recovery
- Find out more about their daily care
- Enjoy sea turtle story time and a sea turtle themed craft and coloring table
