Charleston Friends of the Library and Bay Street Biergarten Bring Back “Books for Beer”!
The Charleston Friends of the Library are celebrating National Library Week by hosting their 2nd Annual “Books for Beer” fundraising event on Tuesday, April 11th at Bay Street Biergarten.
From 5:30 pm to 8 pm, you are invited to bring a gently used book to the downtown bar in exchange for one free beer. Any child that brings a children’s book to donate will receive a free root beer. There is a limit of one beverage per person.
During the event, the Charleston Friends of the Library will sell books and run a silent auction. Proceeds from the sales go back to the library system.
For information visit www.charlestonlibraryfriends.org or call 843-805-6882.
National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support.
