On Thursday, June 22nd, Whole Foods in Mount Pleasant will donate 5% of the day’s net sales to GrowFood Carolina, a food hub that connects small South Carolina farmers to the thriving local food movement.
Whole Foods Market will be open from 8 am to 9 pm for the event, and ALL purchases will earn a donation for GrowFood Carolina.
The "5 Percent Day" will also feature a farmers market highlighting local suppliers and products, a scavenger hunt, and specials on local beer.
GrowFood Carolina is a local, nonprofit wholesale distributor established by the Coastal Conservation League. They provide the link between farmers and the thriving local food movement through marketing, selling, and distributing fresh product to regional restaurants and institutions. Their goal is to create economic opportunities for farmers in order to conserve South Carolina’s productive agricultural landscape and provide a sustainable local food system for our communities.
Whole Foods Market is located at 923 Houston Northcutt Blvd.
