Mayor Tecklenburg officially proclaimed November 2 – 5, 2017 as Charleston to Charleston Literary Festival Weekend.
The Charleston Library Society, in its 269th year of existence, has partnered with the Charleston Trust in Sussex, U.K., to bring a new literary festival to the Holy City. The inaugural Charleston to Charleston Literary Festival will be held during the aforementioned dates and will bring authors, screenwriters, and historians from around the world to Charleston.
The festival will offer programming on subjects as diverse as Shakespeare, Feminism, and a history of the Charleston Renaissance as well as the famed Bloomsbury Group; and will host receptions allowing festival goers to mingle with speakers.
