Holy City Sinner's Top Ten Stories for 2017

It was another newsworthy year in Charleston (and another successful year for Holy City Sinner). As we welcome in 2017, let's take a look at the blog's most viewed stories from 2016.

Here's the list, starting with the most viewed story of the year:

  1. Dave Chappelle & Norman Reedus Spotted Filming in Charleston
    • The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus and comedian Dave Chappelle caused a ripple of excitement in Charleston in February when they were spotted throughout the city with a production crew in tow. The duo was filming for an episode of AMC's Ride with Norman Reedus, which aired in November.
  2. Hootie & the Blowfish Announce 2017 HomeGrown Concert Dates
    • Each year, residents anxiously await Hootie's HomeGrown Concert announcement. 2017 was no different.
  3. Beach Movie Night Returns to Tides Folly Beach for 2017
    • The Tides's "Beach Movie Night" schedule was once again a top story of the year. The 2015 and 2016 schedules were the top posts of their respective years, but slipped a bit in 2017.
  4. "Southern Charm's" Shep Rose Gets His Own Bravo Series
    • Anything involving Southern Charm brings in the views, but this year, a spin-off series made bigger news than the original. In April, Bravo confirmed that Shep Rose, who has starred on all four seasons of Southern Charm, would be starring in his own series called Relationshep.
  5. Where Can I Get Solar Eclipse Glasses in Charleston?!
    • The total solar eclipse was HUGE news in 2017. Of all eclipse-related posts, this tallied the most views. People were desparate to find solar eclipse glasses ahead of the celestial event. Thankfully, there was no shortage of options.
  6. After Social Media Rant, Map of "T-Rav-Free Safe Zones" is Created
    • It seems anything Thomas Ravenel does becomes news. Early in 2017, T-Rav went on a Facebook rant about Craig Nelson, the owner of Proof. After some back-and-forth, a member of the local Food and Bev community decided to create a Google Map of all the "T-Rav Safe Zones" (places Ravenel had reportedly been banned from) around the peninsula.
  7. Ten Things a Holy City Bartender Wishes the Charleston Community Would Remember
    • This guest post brought in a lot of views and plenty comments and feedback.
  8. 4th of July Events in Charleston (2017 Edition)
    • Independence Day is always a popular holiday for the Holy City as residents and tourists are both ready to celebrate the U.S. of A.
  9. Bravo Releases "RelationShep” Trailer; "Southern Charm" Spin-off Expected in the Fall
    • In July, people flocked to Holy City Sinner to view the first Relationshep trailer.
  10. Veterans Day 2017 Discounts & Deals in Charleston
    • Charleston is home to a lot of veterans and active-duty military members, so it should be no surprise that the Veterans Day discounts and deals post was one of 2017's most-viewed.

FYI - I did not include the homepage, daily calendar, resource guides, or old Southern Charm posts which all rack up a lot of page views throughout the year.
