On Tuesday, November 20th, One80 Place will host their 5th annual Turkey & a $20 donation drive to stock their community kitchen and end homelessness. The facility will be open from 8 am until 4 pm.
The event is a fun and interactive way for the downtown homeless shelter to raise funds and collect food that helps the facility feed guests and support critical guest services all year. Accepted donations include:
- Monetary gifts
- Protein (ham, beef, pork)
- Non-perishables
- Canned goods
- Personal items
One80 Place is located at 35 Walnut Street. Click here for more information.
At the 2017 Turkey & a $20 drive, One80 Place collected 520 turkeys, which served about 4,100 meals over the course of the year. The event raised $40,000. The money raised goes toward providing supportive services for the guests of the shelter with the focus of getting individuals housed quickly. Support services include health care, legal services, case management, employment training and placement, housing services, and Veterans services.
