On International Women’s Day (Friday, March 8th), The Homeless Period Project (HPP) invites you to honor the women in your life by being sure that all who menstruate have access to period supplies.
HPP, a 501(c)(3) organization that has chapters throughout the country and across the world, provides menstrual hygiene products to the homeless, shelters, resettled refugees, schools, free medical clinics, food banks, the Red Cross, section 8 housing, and more.
The Lowcountry chapter has been active since July and donates to all four area school districts, and over 20 local charities and organizations.
On March 8th, HPP will host a Packing Party at The Icehouse Restaurant (104 East Doty Avenue) in Summerville. The organization will accept donations of individually wrapped tampons, pads, liners, feminine wipes, ziplock bags (quart), and tall kitchen bags.
If you need ideas of what they need, or would like to mail some donations, HPP asks that you consider their Amazon Wish List.
Tickets to the packing event are free and can be reserved here.
