The Green Barn Jam, a spinoff of the Awendaw Barn Jam, one of the Lowcountry’s most popular local music events, is coming to the north area this May. The Carnes Crossroads community will use the historic Green Barn as a the backdrop for a family-friendly event series showcasing original music from local singer-songwriters, food from local food trucks, beer, wine, games, and activities. The first concert will take place on Sunday, May 19th from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
The musical line-up for the first Green Barn Jam will feature American Fusion musician Fleming Moore (3:30 pm), bluegrass music from The Pluff Mud String Band (4:10 pm) and Summerville’s Mike Freund Band (5:45 pm).
Advance tickets for the May 19th Green Barn Jam are available now for $10 each, and may be purchased online here or in person at the Carnes Crossroads Information Center, located at 513 Wodin Place in Summerville. Tickets will be available for $15 each at the door on the day of the event.
The Green Barn Jam’s food offering on May 19th will include items for purchase from Just Eat This, Dave ‘N’ Dubs hot dogs, Kona Ice, and The Ice Cream Team. Beer, wine and beverages will also be available for purchase. Coolers will not be permitted. Those attending are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to spread out, relax and experience this casual and friendly local music event. Lawn games including four square, horseshoes, connect four, bocce and cornhole will be set up for all to enjoy.
The May 19th event is the first of several Green Barn Jams that will take place at Carnes Crossroads this year. Future dates, music and food line-ups will be announced soon.
