Local Nonprofit Collecting Spare Change to Raise Funds for Academy for Formerly Incarcerated Women

Local nonprofit Liberating Lives will hold an ongoing fundraiser to collect money to build their academy for formerly incarcerated women in the Lowcountry. The 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is asking that people donate their spare change, dimes, nickels, quarters, pennies, to assist them in reaching their goal. The fundraiser runs from March 18th, 2019, and ends on May 18th, 2019.

The Liberating Lives Academy is a residential training academy for formerly incarcerated women in the Tri-County area. With this academy, they plan to support former inmates to successfully overcome reintegration challenges associated with assimilation into society, and reduce recidivism.

The Liberating Lives Academy curriculum will provide Biblical principles, career development training to enhance the job search process, interviewing, resume creation, dining etiquette, internships, life coaching, budgeting, parenting, healthcare, and continuing education to support personal and professional development.

The fundraiser is open to any and all members of the community interested in supporting the cause. Donations can be dropped off to Exquisite Enterprises Inc., 5524 Dutton Avenue, Suite B3, North Charleston, SC 29406.
