Dorchester County Closely Monitoring Hurricane Dorian
The following is a press release from Dorchester County regarding Hurricane Dorian:
The Dorchester County Emergency Management Department (EMD) continues to closely monitor Hurricane Dorian which is currently located approximately 150 miles north, northwest of Puerto Rico moving northwest at 13 miles per hour.
EMD has opened lines of communication with emergency support agencies and all essential personnel are now on stand-by.
County officials and staff continue to participate in daily conference calls to remain up-to-date on the storm’s path and potential impacts. While the path of Dorian remains uncertain, residents are encouraged to review their hurricane preparedness and evacuation plans. Dorchester County Hurricane Evacuation Zones were updated in May 2018. Residents can locate their zone by visiting www.DorchesterCountySC.gov/Dorian and/or by downloading the SC Emergency Manager mobile app.
DorchesterCountySC.gov/Dorian will serve as the central information hub for all Hurricane Dorian updates. Residents are also encouraged to follow Dorchester County Government on Facebook and Twitter.
