Lewis Barbecue Hosts 3rd Annual Chile Roast in October

On Saturday, October 5th, Lewis Barbecue will host its third annual Lewis Chile Roast from 1 pm to 4 pm. Guests can join Pitmaster John Lewis for a celebration of his favorite ingredient, the Hatch green chile, brought in straight from Hatch, New Mexico.

The party will feature fresh, roasted chiles for sale, a tasting tent with some of Charleston’s best chefs, live music, and more. Chile lovers can pre-order roasted chiles, sold by the 1-pound bag, on Lewis’ online store here and pick up the product at the event or purchase on site. The event is free and open to the public.

Restaurants participating include Bessinger's BBQ, Daps Breakfast & Imbibe, Edmunds Oast, Grace & Grit, Jack Of Cups Saloon, Le Farfalle,  Life Raft Treats, Micho, Minero, Renzo, Sparky’s BBQ and Espresso, Tavern & Table, The Obstinate Daughter/Wild Olive, and Zia Green Chile Company.

Special chile-infused drinks created by Revelry Brewing, Cathead Vodka, and Cannonborough Beverage Co. will be for sale.
