Welcome to the Weekend Buzz on Holy City Sinner. Here's what's happening the third full weekend of October 2019. The following is a list of just a few events and happenings you might want to take part in during the weekend. Consider the list a cornucopia of happenings around the Lowcountry of Charleston. 2019 Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch is open October 1-31 at Boone Hall Property on 17N in Mt. Pleasant. Enjoy corn maze, giant pillow, petting zoo, climbing wall, friendly monster hayrides & lots more. Boone Hall also host Fright Nights in October. Enter the dilapidated funeral home where the bodies and souls of haunted demons and the criminally insane come to rest. Conquer your darkest fears as the dead come to life and you come face to face with...THE UNDERTAKER. Thurs-Sun after dark. Children under the age of 12 MUST be accompanied by a ticketed adult through the attractions. Children under the age of 6 will not be admitted to the event for safety reasons. Thank you. The North Charleston Coliseum is busy this weekend.. Friday night enjoy the family friendly Garden Bros. Circus under the big top inside the coliseum. Shows at 4:30pm & 7:30pm. Tickets $28 or $38 VIP admission. On Saturday night come out as your SC Stingrays open the season hosting the Orlando Solar Bears in exciting ECHL ice hockey. Tickets begin at $15. The Charleston Music Hall is crazy busy this weekend. Friday night Free Verse Poetry Festival presents 'An Evening with Andrea Gibson'. Show time is 8pm. Tickets just $10. On Saturday night enjoy live music as the Charleston Jazz Orchestra presents Saxophone Legends: Ernie Watts Plays John Coltrane, Charlie Parker & More. Tickets $10-$60. Performances at 5pm & 8pm. Pure Theatre 134 Cannon Street present 'Oscealo's Muse'. On Sullivan’s Island where Osceola is buried, his spirit still looms. The overgrown remnants of Fort Moultrie batteries give an inkling of the conditions he and his tribe endured while prisoners there. Street names like Osceola and Thompson Avenues remind us of the island’s conflicted role in the Seminole Wars. Fables of his bravery and leadership blow on the sea breezes as historians continue to debate the issues of deceit and heroism that framed this important part of South Carolina history. Charleston Stage Co. at Dock Street Theatre begin their run of 'Nevermore! Voyage Into the Netherworld'. Weekend shows thru Nov 3rd. In September of 1847, Edgar Allan Poe boarded a steamer in Baltimore for an overnight trip to New York. Five days later, never having arrived in New York, Poe was found wandering the Baltimore streets delirious and raving mad. Taken to a nearby tavern, he soon died. Footlight Players at Queen Street Playhouse, 20 Queen Street begin their run of 'Born Yesterday'. The stage play follows an uncouth, corrupt Harry Brock, brings his showgirl mistress Billie Dawn with him to Washington, D.C. When Billie's ignorance becomes a liability to Brock's business dealings, he hires a journalist, Paul Verrall, to educate his girlfriend. In the process of learning, Billie Dawn realizes how corrupt Harry is and begins interfering with his plans to bribe a Congressman into passing legislation that would allow Brock's business to make more money.
