A popular Lewis Barbecue spin-off is making its return next week! Pitmaster and pizza enthusiast John Lewis will team up with Baker’s Bar on Wednesday, October 23rd for a “Johnnie Luigi’s Pizza Party,” featuring his take on Detroit-style 'za.
Lewis, along with Chef de Cuisine Philip Powers, have created 3 distinct pies for the occasion: Pepperoni made with Lewis Barbecue’s dry-cured hot guts; Clam Surprise; and Red + Green Hatch Chile. The menu also includes starters like oven-roasted meatballs and the classic Detroit-style “Nothing Nice” salad. Save room for dessert; Pastry Chef Katy Keefe has created some great sweet treats to cap off the evening.
The pop-up begins at Baker’s Bar (1 Broad St.) at 4 pm and the menu will run until sold out.
