Goose Creek Bowling Alley Offers Up Inexpensive Fun For Families, Schools, Church, & Business Outings
By: Jeff Walker, Business Writer
Bowling is still one of the most predominant participant sports and or games in America. The Europeans introduced bowling to America in the mid 1800’s, with the sport peaking during the 1950’s. Fun and affordable bowling is a game that can be enjoyed by all ages, and can be played well in to your twi-light years.
While many low country bowling alleys have closed over the past decade, including Dorchester Lanes, Triangle in West Ashley, and Sparian’s Mount Pleasant, one bowling center Royal Lanes Family Entertainment Center has stood the test of time, serving the greater Charleston community, Goose Creek, and Berkeley County going on 34 years.
Royal Lanes (formerly Royal Z) has been an affordable family friendly bowling center since opening their doors on Central Avenue in Goose Creek back in 1986. Open seven days a week from 9am sometimes until 2am, Royal Lanes has 36 synthetic lanes, offering a different special each and every day of the week.
For less than the price of a movie ticket you can bowl non-stop for three and four hours at a time, and your shoe rental is included. Come in Monday and $7 is all you need from 10pm-2am. Tuesday thru Thursday just $8 allows you to bowl 9pm to midnight, while 21 and older crowd can enjoy 2 for $1 Jell-o shots. Talk about a cheap date, Monday thru Thursday nights are extra affordable.
Young couples and empty nesters searching for a fun night out, or maybe a group outing might want to drop in Friday and Saturday nights for Cosmic Bowling. Always a fun time with pop, rock, and country music playing in the background. Take part in unlimited bowling including shoe rental for just $15 per person. I wouldn’t call that a cheap date, it’s more a budget worthy outing, aka more bang for your buck.
Alley Gators the friendly sports bar located inside Royal Lanes offers up Karaoke Night on Friday from 9pm-2am. Looking for the most affordable sports bar and grill in Goose Creek, than look no further than Alley Gators. Happy Hour Monday thru Friday 4-6pm serving up ice cold domestic drafts for just $2.25. Inexpensive Jell-o shots, with $3 mixed drink specials, and Fireballs. There is no neighborhood pub in Goose Creek serving drinks for less than Alley Gators.
Maybe you don’t step out after dark. That’s okay, because Royal Lanes has plenty happening during the daylight hours. Whether it’s just a two of you, or maybe a family outing, Royal Lanes has you covered weekdays. From 1-5pm everyday Royal Lanes allows unlimited bowling for just $7 for adults, and $5 for kids 18 and under. Great little stress relief or a treat for the little ones, after you pick up the kids from school.
Parents bring your kids in on Saturday mornings and let them take part in Royal Lanes Youth Bowling Program. Good, clean, and always safe fun. A great way for kids to become more outgoing and develop social skills. Of course Royal offers Birthday Party packages. You bring the kids, family, cake & presents, and Royal Lanes will provide the space and food. The up side you don’t have to clean up after. Birthday parties are more fun when kids bowl. Kids of all ages will enjoy the oversized arcade as well.
If you’re part of the low country food & beverage community (management or server) than Monday night is your night to let your hair down. Royal Lanes invites all F&B types to come in and bowl for just $7 unlimited after 10pm while throwing back $2.50 tequila shots, and dollar Jell-o shots. Bring your entire staff and make it a social.
Damn straight Royal Lanes offers up league play. Bowling leagues have been on tap since the lanes opened. They have leagues at night and leagues during the weekdays. Check out their on-going Dream Leagues, which pit two and three person teams against each other on Tuesday nights. Senior leagues meet Monday and Wednesday during the day for friendly competition. Always room for more teams and players.
No bowling alley offers more, no bowling alley does more than Royal Lanes in Goose Creek. They are just 10 and 15 minutes from Hanahan, Moncks Corner, North Charleston, Ladson, Summerville, and the Nexton & Cane Bay communities. Drive a little and save a lot!
Owned and operated by the Tsafos family for the past 10 years, Royal Lanes likes to say it is a no-frills family friendly bowling center, but truthfully they do offer up one great perk, and that is affordable family friendly fun in a clean environment with attentive staff. Seniors and baby boomers have been bowling for decades, it’s fun and provides a bit of exercise. Royal Lanes invites the next generation of parents and young people out for inexpensive fun.
The pro shop located just inside the main entrance to Royal Lanes is perhaps one of the most professional. If you’re a professional bowler, a beginner, or somewhere in between and want help, then Jeff is the man to see. Looking for a bowling ball or any of the accessories, Jeff will take care of you. Custom bowling balls, ball repair, resurfacing, and more. Jeff has run his own business for many years at Royal Lanes. You can trust a pro. https://royallanes.net/products
After more than three decades in business, the past 10 under the guidance of the Tsafos family, Royal Lanes has garnered strong ties with the community. They offer after school programs, leagues for high school teams, corporate and company outings, not to mention their partnership with Special Olympics. Have your next church social, family re-union, or employee team meeting at Royal Lanes.
While all their pricing is cheap, families and regular bowlers can find extra savings from time to time with discount flyers and Groupon offers. Royal Lanes is all about saving the customer as much money as they can. Not only do they have daily specials but monthly specials as well, like Ladies Bowl Free after 9pm Mon-Thurs during the month of February. It sounds crazy, but true. Parents you’ll find great summer savings when kids are out of school.
Let’s recap. The largest bowling alley in all of greater Charleston, affordable snack bar, an arcade with 20 plus games, a snack bar serving up your hand held favorites. Some of the best burgers, wings, pizza, and sweets around. They even have a Caesar Salad on the menu. All the munchies are under $7.
Inexpensive bowling, affordable family fun, good food and drink, late night and weekend enjoyment. The only thing missing is you. Royal Lanes has its regulars, especially those who partake in leagues, with seniors and baby boomers still enjoying a good night out of bowling. Royal Lanes invites the younger generation in. If you’ve never bowled, than try it for the first time. If you haven’t bowled in some time, than rediscover how much fun the game is.
