Welcome to the Weekend Buzz on Holy City Sinner. Here's what's happening the forth full weekend of February. The following is a list of just a few events and happenings you might want to take part in during the weekend. Consider the list a cornucopia of happenings around the Lowcountry of Charleston. The SC Aquarium host a Good Catch Oysterfest Friday beginning aat 7:30pm. A crowd favorite for years, we’re kicking off After Hours with Good Catch Oysterfest! Enjoy views of the Charleston Harbor while shucking and sipping with fresh oysters and beer. The North Charleston Coliseum is busy this weekend. Friday night at the PAC come out for ABBA The Concert:A Tribute To ABBA. Showtime is 8pm. On Saturday at the PAC it's the Valentine’s Southern Soul and R&B Spectacular featuring Anthony Hamilton, Chubb Rock, Dee Dee Simon, Roi "Chip" Anthony, and Geno Wesley. Concert starts at 7pm. Over at the coliseum your SC Stingrays take on Atlanta 6pm on Saturday, and the Worchester Railers 2pm on Sunday. CALLING ALL STAR WARS FANS! Don't miss our annual Star Wars Night presented by this Saturday with the Stingrays. The first 2,000 fans through the doors will receive a light up sword! Star Wars characters will be in attendance. The Charleston Music Hall is busy this weekend. Saturday night NS2 & CMH present Napoleon Dynamite – Film & Conversation w/ Jon Heder. Event is BYOT (Bring Your Own Tots). Tickets $35 & $75 VIP. Show starts at 8pm. Sunday beginning at 1pm Light Coast Events presents a LowCountry Irish Fest featuring The Byrne Brothers, SYR, Celtic Folk Rock Band, Legacy Irish Dance Troupe, Carroll Brown Band, The Bograts, Catherine Kinder & the Charleston Trad. CAPTAIN’S COMICS AND TOYS is proud to present the 12TH ANNUAL CAPTAIN’S COMIC EXPO! Oyster lovers take note. Royal Lanes at 106 Central Avenue in Goose Creek is hosting an all you can eat Oyster Roast on Saturday from 4-7pm. Aside from oysters there will be soups & chili. Plus you'll have access to the Alley Gators Lounge, arcade, and the only 36 lane bowling alley in SC. Lots of fun for the whole family. Saturday 1-9pm enjoy the first ever Mardi Gras Bar Crawl on King Street. Since Folly Gras Festival organizers decided to cancel the event after 'unfortunate incidents', they decided to pick up the torch and keep the party going with a bar crawl that only we could throw, and we are taking the shenanigans to King Street! This is sure to be the new 2020 Folly Gras! Check-in will be from 1 - 4 pm at The Brick on Ann Street where you will pick up your scorecards and other swag. Proceeds benefit the Charleston Animal Society.
There are several communities celebrating Mardi Gras this weekend. In the Park Circle area of North Charleston LoLa will celebrate Fri-Sun, beginning with a party 4:30-7:30pm Friday with live music. On Saturday Home Team BBQ host their 3rd annual Rock the Block Party at 126 Williman St. downtown Charleston. The free-to-attend, family-friendly event is 11-6pm. The public is invited to gather to revel in food, drink, music, and more in support of the fight against pediatric brain cancer. The block party benefits Hogs for the Cause, Rock the Block.
