Charleston’s Vertical Roots, the largest hydroponic container farm in the U.S., has launched a Mobile Hydroponic Farm dubbed the Lettuce Localmotive. The team is taking its local lettuce on the road and will be stopping at Publix grocery stores every Saturday from now until the end of May.
The next stop will be on March 14th from 11 am to 4 pm at the Publix in Mount Pleasant. The Lettuce Localmotive is a smaller version of a Vertical Roots hydroponic container farm, but on wheels. During tour stops, everyone is invited to step inside for a hands-on experience of how they sustainably grow their produce. You’ll learn all about the process, seed your own lettuce plants, and can even grab some Vertical Roots swag.
You can learn more on the Vertical Roots Facebook.
