Weekend Buzz: Fun Things To Do In Charleston This Weekend

By Jeff Walker, Entertainment Writer

Welcome to the Weekend Buzz on Holy City Sinner. Here's what's happening the third full weekend in March. The following is a list of just a few events and happenings you might want to take part in during the weekend. Consider the list a cornucopia of happenings around the Lowcountry of Charleston. Something for everyone. The year heats up with events, so be sure to check the Weekend Buzz out on Holy City Sinner. Thanks! Lots happening in Chuck-town this weekend. If you love comedy, plays, sports, food & festivals, you'll find something to do this weekend.

While events, concerts, festivals, theatre productions have all been shut down or postponed for a while, please take the time to enjoy your immediate family and your close circle of friends. This is the time to revisit an old movie, binge watch TV shows, re-familiarize yourself with a old fashioned book.

Young parents it's time to connect with your kids. Maybe play in the house or in the backyard. Use Skype and Face-time to connect with grandparents. Wave to your neighbors as they pass by, stay connected even from a safe distance. Shop when you have need, and think of others when shopping. We all share the same community and planet.

I, like others who believe in God, hope and pray He will use this worldwide epidemic to bring us all closer to each other, closer to Him, and more dependent on Him. This isolation from each other will be short, but in the bigger picture the people of the Holy City of Charleston, and Americans overall are resilient.

Remember to practice safe hygiene, be kind, be patient, and stay safe. Until we all congregate in public spaces again, we at Holy City Sinner pray the best for you. We hope to see you at a restaurant, concert, play, festival, school, and church again real soon.

Many events have been canceled or postponed due to the virus and health concerns. Please check with the venues or websites for events to make certain.  Events have changed from day to day. We hope to keep you up to date as best as possible.

With sports, concerts, festivals, and live stage shows postponing it's time to reflect on more important things. Life will return to normal and the good Lord has watch over the Holy City. Charleston is strong and has survived natural disasters and church shootings and come back stronger. There is no small wonder we wear the title of Holy City, because our faith in God and community spirit has always bonded us together. Remain strong, pray for your community leaders, health care providers, first responders, military, and elected officials.  Together we will rise above this current threat.
