The following is a press release from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office:
On Thursday, Detention Center personnel learned of 3 more confirmed inmate COVID-19 cases at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center. One of those 3 inmates has since been released.
In total, 6 inmates have tested positive for COVID-19. Two have been released and 4 are quarantined under medical treatment at the Detention Center.
Additionally, one detention deputy has tested positive for COVID-19. The deputy has been employed with the Sheriff’s Office since 2003.
