Skincare expert, spa owner, and licensed esthetician Liz Munn today announced the release of The Facial Guardian – a top-of-the-line physical barrier and sanitation system to provide an added layer of safety for estheticians and their clients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Facial Guardian (pictured at right) includes a lightweight shatterproof polycarbonate barrier, a steam cleaner, and a microfiber towel. The Facial Guardian costs $375 (shipping included) and is available for purchase on its website and on Amazon.
The Facial Guardian includes a portable barrier that is placed between a client and an esthetician during a facial service. The Facial Guardian barrier fits treatment tables 26 inches or wider, is made from crystal clear material for full visibility, and works for standing or sitting estheticians. The steam-cleaning apparatus heats to 220 degrees in 90 seconds and kills 99.9% of germs on surfaces. Along with following the Center for Disease Control guidelines, Munn recommends using the system in conjunction with a face mask and gloves.
More than 12 million facials were performed in the United States in 2019, according to the Simmons National Consumer Survey. Now, with businesses beginning to reopen, Munn said she wants to offer The Facial Guardian as an extra layer of protection and comfort.
“I have received messages from colleagues expressing fear and some desiring to return to work,” Munn said. “That is when the idea for this system came to mind. I believe the Facial Guardian can help us return to servicing our clients with added precautions. We have some great resources right here in Charleston so I sought out local businesses to bring my idea to life.”
The Facial Guardian's headquarters are located at 1942 Sam Rittenburg Blvd., Suite D, inside of SkinPro Studio.
