Nexton Ranks Among U.S.’s Most Popular Master-Planned Communities

Press Release

Nexton was recognized as one of the 50 top-selling master-planned communities by RCLCO Real Estate Advisors. With a growing presence that includes cutting-edge office space, new residential and hospitality offerings and dining and retail options, the community has become a national model for mixed-use development.

Nexton is ranked #37 on the Top 50 list based on year-to-date home sales. Earlier in 2020, Nexton surpassed the 1,000-home milestone which was accomplished in just under five years.

Despite COVID-19, Nexton’s homes sales accelerated in recent months. Many of the community’s newest residents are former apartment dwellers who desire a yard and more space to work from home. Nexton has also attracted a growing number of retirees, many of whom are from the Northeastern U.S., whose plans to move south to enjoy warmer climate or live closer to family were fast-tracked in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.

“Nexton’s new homes offer open floorplans with clean, modern finishes as well as flex spaces for home offices, gyms or children’s learning areas, ideal for those spending more time at home,” said Nexton’s Director of Marketing, Cassie Cataline. “The community design also incorporates large parks, pools and trails for homeowners to be active outdoors.”

In addition to Nexton’s residential offerings, the community has become a regional hub for a growing number of hospital systems and health and wellness practitioners. From a full-service hospital and medical campus to a multi-specialty surgery facility and a freestanding urgent care, a wide range of health professionals are opening state-of-the-art offices and facilities to foster the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of Nexton’s residents and visitors.

Nexton is also ideally situated near several large-scale employers, including Joint Base Charleston, The Boeing Company, Volvo Cars and Mercedes-Benz Vans. These companies have helped established Nexton as a major employment center in the Charleston region, bringing with it a multitude of options for dining, retail and entertainment.
