Beaulieu sailing his 42-foot Pearson sailboat Windward Star
On August 1, 2020, resident James Beaulieu opened Bree's Canvasworks, his own custom marine canvas and cushion shop, on Johns Island. The store offers a wide variety of custom fabricated canvas projects, from replacement cushions to covers and enclosures.
Beaulieu is a long-time sailor, who grew up with a variety of sailboats on Lake Champlain in Vermont, from a 19-foot Corinthian to the Pearson 424 on which he and his wife now live full time on Johns Island. Previously, he worked for Coastal Cushion and Canvas in Mt. Pleasant.
