While COVID-19 has affected many of this year’s events, Charleston is a city determined to maintain the holiday spirit no matter what. Local events have been modified to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines so you and your family can still make the most of the season.

Create holiday memories with a candlelight tour of the 18th century Drayton Hall, Charleston’s oldest untouched home. This is the first year Drayton Hall will be open for public tours in the evening during the 2020 holiday season.
After your tour, we invite you to enjoy a warm cup of spiced cider as you stroll back toward the Visitors Center and visit The Shop at Drayton Hall.

The Stableyards’ artisan shops will be lit by candlelight as craftspeople ply their trades and interact with visitors during this special holiday event. Seasonal refreshments provided, and there will be crafts for children, a living nativity, storytelling by Father Christmas, and carolers.

The Spirituals Concert Series at Drayton Hall represents a rare opportunity to experience the music of traditional African-American spirituals. Two extraordinary and memorable performances by Ann Caldwell & The Magnolia Singers will be broadcast this year via Zoom links provided to ticket holders.

This family-friendly, fun, free, and safe event will be drive-in style, where families are invited to tailgate at a social distance, located at The Bend. Enjoy live music and food from the comfort (and safety) of your designated tailgate area while you watch the sunset along the Ashley River! Highlight include hot latkes and other foods, Chanukah treats and giveaways, children’s entertainment, and a giant menorah lighting.
Chanukah in the Square is the largest annual Jewish event in the state of South Carolina and is a beautiful, family-friendly way to come together as a community.

The Children’s Garden at Magnolia will magically transform again this year into a Children’s Holiday Village where visitors can enjoy the sights and sounds of the Holiday Season!
Celebrating Holiday traditions worldwide, visitors can learn some of the origins of popular traditions, taste unique treats, and explore how other countries celebrate the season. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be making a special appearance with some of their elves, too.
