Are you going stir crazy yet? While life and socialization is still interrupted there are a few things to do this weekend in Charleston. Most of the area beaches are now open for families to visit. I recommend visiting the city sites for Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms, and Folly Beach to see any restrictions that might apply. The next several paragraphs will offer a few ideas for people and families to do this weekend.
Charleston Music Hall, Theatre 99, an 34 West have live shows this weekend. Some live music clubs are now open and offering up live music. Check below. Please double check with venues before venturing out, since things change so quickly nowadays. Hope you find something to do with friends or family this weekend. Things change rather quickly during the pandemic!

The annual Holiday Festival of Lights kicks off this weekend and runs thru the end of December at James Island County Park. This year's unique experience will allow you and your family to create special memories, all from the comfort of your own vehicle. Marvel at the millions of twinkling lights. Tune to 1630 AM for park information and holiday music. Enjoy mouth-watering treats from our drive-up concessions area. Take "I Spy" to the next level with our holiday scavenger hunt. While the City of Charleston and Mt. Pleasant have cancelled their Christmas parades, several low country communities are forging ahead. Hanahan will host its Tree Lighting w/ Movie in the Park Friday 6-10pm, showing the classic 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer' On Saturday their holiday parade kicks off at 10am.
Moncks Corner will host a night parade on Saturday 6-8pm followed by a holiday fair at the recreational complex. Additional holiday fairs on Friday & Saturday thru Dec 20th. Goose Creek have a tree lighting ceremony on Friday night beginning at 5:30pm at the municipal center.
North Charleston's Christmas in the Park takes place at Park Circle, with official tree lighting 6-7:30pm. Visits with Santa take place Friday 4-6pm & Saturday 1-5pm as well. The Christmas Light Show will stay up thru Jan 1st.
And Summervilles Christmas on the Square takes place downtown at Hutchinson Square and continues thru Dec 19th. Folks can vote on their favorite decorated tree. Visit the city website for more.
Santee Cooper in Moncks Corner host the Season’s Holiday Lights Driving Tour. This stunning drive-thru path of brilliant LED lighting displays meanders from Santee Cooper’s headquarters through the beautiful landscape of Old Santee Canal Park. All the displays are powered by 100% Green Power from Santee Cooper, and it’s all you and your loved ones need to get in the holiday spirit. The tour s open daily from Nov. 27 through Dec. 30 from 6-9pm. Closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. For only $5 per vehicle, participants can make multiple trips through the 2-mile course on the day for which they purchase admission. Proceeds are donated to Berkeley County charities, including the Coastal Community Foundation’s Giving Back to Berkeley Fund.
Also, don’t forget to visit the Weekend Holiday Fair at Moncks Corner Regional Recreation Complex. The fair is organized by the Town of Moncks Corner and will be held on Dec. 4-6; Dec. 11-13; and Dec 18-20. Food and drink vendors, along with Santa Claus, will be at the fair. Due to the pandemic, there will be no carnival rides this year. Admission to the Holiday Fair is free.
The Sea Island Farmers Market takes place every Saturday 9:30-1:30pm at 2024 Academy Rd. on Johns Island. In addition to the weekly Farmers Market - Holiday Night Market dates: November 28, December 5, 12, and 19 from 4-8pm. If you just want to get out of the house their are of course city parks open as well as most area golf courses. Sunny days are welcome for walking the beach, bicycling, jogging, maybe tossing the frisbee, or getting in a round of golf. Check with golf courses for certain restrictions. Plus Park Circle in North Charleston offers a nice disc golf course.
Boone Hall Plantation is open to the public! They’re open on Thursday 9-5pm. Guests can enjoy the plantation and gardens this weekend. Hours are Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. During this reopening period, they’re offering discounted admission. Ages 13 and up will be $15. Due to the ongoing situation related to COVID-19 in South Carolina, the West Ashley Farmers Market will open as an essentials only market on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Ackerman Park, located at 55 Sycamore Avenue. Vendors and patrons will be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing throughout the event, and to follow all other CDC protocols related to COVID-19. This new, essentials-only format will feature farmer and grower vendors exclusively, including Gruber Farms, Robert Fields Farm and Oliver Freeman Farm. No prepared food vendors, entertainment or other activities will be included.
Middleton Place, the ancestral home of two Founding Fathers and site of America’s oldest landscaped gardens, has reopened to the public. Ticket pricing has been revised, as well. Lowcountry Tri-County residents pay $26 while non-locals pay $29 per adult. However, if you purchase online, tickets are $20, a 30% discount that also allows for nearly contactless admission. Welcome to the Weekend Buzz on Holy City Sinner. Here's what's happening this weekend. The following is a list of just a few events and happenings you might want to take part in during the weekend. Consider the list a cornucopia of happenings around the Lowcountry of Charleston. Something for everyone. The year heats up with events, so be sure to check the Weekend Buzz out on Holy City Sinner. Thanks! Lots happening in Chuck-town this weekend. If you love comedy, plays, sports, food & festivals, you'll find something to do this weekend.
While events, concerts, festivals, theatre productions have all been shut down or postponed for a while, please take the time to enjoy your immediate family and your close circle of friends. This is the time to revisit an old movie, binge watch TV shows, re-familiarize yourself with a old fashioned book.
Young parents it's time to connect with your kids. Maybe play in the house or in the backyard. Use Skype and Face-time to connect with grandparents. Wave to your neighbors as they pass by, stay connected even from a safe distance. Shop when you have need, and think of others when shopping. We all share the same community and planet.
I, like others who believe in God, hope and pray He will use this worldwide epidemic to bring us all closer to each other, closer to Him, and more dependent on Him. This isolation from each other will be short, but in the bigger picture the people of the Holy City of Charleston, and Americans overall are resilient.
Remember to practice safe hygiene, be kind, be patient, and stay safe. Until we all congregate in public spaces again, we at Holy City Sinner pray the best for you. We hope to see you at a restaurant, concert, play, festival, school, and church again real soon.

With sports, concerts, festivals, and live stage shows postponing it's time to reflect on more important things. Life will return to normal and the good Lord has watch over the Holy City. Charleston is strong and has survived natural disasters and church shootings and come back stronger. There is no small wonder we wear the title of Holy City, because our faith in God and community spirit has always bonded us together. Remain strong, pray for your community leaders, health care providers, first responders, military, and elected officials. Together we will rise above this current threat.

Not open at this time. The Charleston City Night Market (Market Streets) is closed this Friday night. The marketplace is an exciting showcase of more than 100 talented artists and craftspeople that occurs every Friday and Saturday evening from March - December. The Night Market runs from 6:30 - 10:30 pm and is a free event that is open to the public.
Thirty Four West Theatre 200 Meeting Street present It's Christmas, Babe!. Their sold-out show from 2019 returns! The Black Fedora 164 Church Street downtown, offers clean comic whodunit shows most evenings, featuring volunteer audience participation and a la carte appetizers, desserts, and drinks.
