The Woodlands Nature Reserve is bringing the forest to life for a drive-thru celebration of light called "Illuminated." The one-mile loop features illuminated oak trees and longleaf pines, laser projections, and dynamic lights across the water of Observation Lake. The spectacle is available during weekend nights in the month of December
"Illuminated" is included with any overnight stay, or available at the introductory rate of $10 per car. Passes can be purchased online or at the gate. Advance purchase or electronic payments are preferred.
After completing the one-mile loop, you can circle through again or park, and enjoy a stroll and cozy up to the campfire for some live music. Hot chocolate, popcorn, and s'mores are available for purchase. Outdoor activities are spread out and masks are recommended when exiting your vehicle.
Overnight options include staying in a tent cabin or pitching your own tent at a primitive campsite. All sites include lake views and a day pass to enjoy the trails and lakes.
