The city of Charleston will host a Virtual Information Session for the 2021 AmeriCorps VISTA Site Selection Process to provide an overview of the AmeriCorps VISTA Program, and review related regulations and site requirements. The Information Session will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 9 to 10:30 am via Zoom.
Who it's for: The session will provide helpful information to organizations interested in hosting a VISTA service member in 2021.
Why it matters: AmeriCorps VISTA is the national service program of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) designed specifically to fight poverty.
The program supports local efforts by engaging VISTA members in one year of full-time service with a local organization, where they help to build capacity and sustainability to serve the organization’s clients more effectively.
How to attend: To register to attend the upcoming Virtual Information Session, please email Mindy Sturm at [email protected]. Once registered, participants will receive a Zoom link to attend the meeting.
Representatives of organizations planning to apply are strongly encouraged to attend.
Application information: The application documents required to serve as a 2021 VISTA host site are attached and must be returned by Friday, January 22, 2021 at 5 p.m.
