Longtime King Street Thai restaurant Basil will reportedly close later this year. According to a report from Eater Carolinas, the popular restaurant will not renew its lease at 460 King Street when it ends in May.
The website says manager Kelly Morris sent an email this past Thursday confirming that “… with COVID and other unfortunate circumstances Basil will no longer be open downtown.”
Basil opened their King Street location in 2002. The restaurant also has nearby locations in North Charleston and Mt. Pleasant.
