Charleston County and Fetter Health Care will offer the second dose of the Moderna vaccine for those who received their first dose at a previous rural vaccination clinic. Citizens who received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine at the St. Paul's/Hollywood Library on February 16, 2021, will receive a second dose on Tuesday, March 16th at the same location between 9 am to noon.
Citizens who received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine at the Baxter-Patrick James Island Library on February 25, 2021, will receive a second dose at the same location between 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 25.
Those coming to receive their second dose of the Moderna vaccine do not need schedule an appointment, and there is no need to arrive before 9:00 a.m. Please bring with you:
- Photo identification
- The vaccination card provided to you when you received your first dose of the vaccine
Please note, if you did not receive your first dose of the Moderna vaccine at either of the previous rural vaccination clinics, you will not receive a vaccine the morning of March 16 or March 25.
Single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available in the afternoon.
It is important that citizens receiving the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine do not arrive before 12:30 p.m. Vaccines are available to citizens in Phase 1a and Phase 1b, which includes citizens 55 and older, those at increased risk for severe COVID-19 disease and frontline workers with increased occupational risk. The clinics are first come, first serve and do not require an appointment.
Those coming for a single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, please bring with you:
- Photo identification
- Insurance card, if applicable
The libraries will be closed to the public on the day of the vaccine clinics. The book drops will also be closed. Charleston County plans to continue working with Fetter Health Care on future rural clinics as the COVID-19 vaccine becomes available.
